Commitment to the local community

Aguas de Torremolinos' contribution to the community is based on the following main areas of action: universal access to water, dialogue, education, raising awareness of sustainable water use and investment in social initiatives.

A total of €142,907 in financial aid to the local community. Aguas de Torremolinos carried out over 17 relevant actions in 2018 that demonstrate its involvement in the municipality of Torremolinos.

The social benefits that are generated are not limited to drinking water distribution and sewers. In addition, Aguas de Torremolinos makes the utmost effort to transmit to society its values in the areas of environmental protection and water resources, through education, dissemination and awareness-raising actions for children or activities developed for World Water Day.

Aguas de Torremolinos support schemes

In its commitment to ensure that the most vulnerable social groups have access to water, Aguas de Torremolinos, along with the Town Council, has established assistance for groups at risk of social exclusion who cannot pay their water bills. This led to the Torremolinos support scheme, which is assigned 20,000 euros per year to meet water and refuse bills in cases in which the Social Welfare Office identifies a risk of social exclusion.
